So, Todays topic of discussion is GYM ETIQUETTE.
Let me start by saying at one point or another we have all left something out at the gym. Maybe by mistake (or not) but we have all done it. We are all human and we all make mistakes. What drives me nuts are the people that ALWAYS leave their stuff out. I have had clients that assume I am supposed to clean up after them like I am their mommy...WFT? are you kidding me?? This is a gym. We are here to workout but you and only you are responsible for cleaning up after yourself.
When you don't it is a direct reflection of the kind of person you are. Trust me when I say as trainers we know who the dirty members are for the most part. We get stuck cleaning up after you so that other members can have a good experience. I can't count the number of times I go into the gym at 5am and have to clean up 400 pound dead lift bar off the floor or 20 pound dumbbells left out in front of the raq DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE RAQ I mean 1 foot away from where it should have been put away. I would love to know what was going on in that persons head when they talked themselves into leaving those weights there.
If this is you...just stop making yourself look like an Asshole better yet...stop being one!
Being one of the first people in the gym daily and being one of the people try tries to never leave anything out of place there is noting worse then getting to the gym to start you shift have having to clean up after a bunch of lazy adults.
IF YOU CAN PICK IT UP YOU CAN PUT IT BACK.
Now the fact that I even have to talk about this second topic is very disturbing but it happens more than than you would believe so here it goes.......
If you use the washroom and you make a mess CLEAN IT/FLUSH IT/DISPOSE OF IT!!
I can't understand how people will use the bathroom and leave the toilet bowl full for the next poor soul to be greeted with. Where on earth is this acceptable?? If you pee on the toilet clean it! If you take a shit, FLUSH IT! If it's shark week and you need to dispose of certain products put them in the appropriate place(yes, This has been a issue more than once)
This goes for men too(Maybe not the female products) but no one wants to step in your piss. How you manage to miss that bowl is beyond me but if you cant keep it in the bowl while standing maybe you should take a seat?!
Last but not least.....wash your god damn hands after every use!!!!!!
I know you may think "but I didn't get anything on my hands" Yes you did because every other person that touched/wiped themselves has touched the handle on the door, the flush button and who knows what else. So don't just run your hands under the water for 3 seconds and think you rinsed all the germs from everyone else's body parts off your hands because it takes 20 seconds and some serious suds to get that stuff off.
I know that was a huge rant but it needed to be said.
Be a good human. Clean up after yourself so your fellow human doesn't have to.
